Nature Walks

Follow the path of nature

These are 2-6 hours walks in various nature areas in Singapore. Experience guides highlight the unique plants and animals that live in the particular habitat, as well as discuss conservation issues.

These walks are suitable for all students, teachers, and members of the public, as well as corporate groups.

Southern Islands

Intertidal walks to our Southern Islands such as St John’s Island , Sisters Islands and Pulau Hantu can be arranged. This walk allows participants to examine the biodiversity of man-made lagoons and the natural coral reefs. This walk is dependent on suitable low tides. This walk is opened to all members of the public. Booking is on a first-come-first-serve basis. A minimum number of 10 is required. Participants must be aged 7 and above.

Changi Beach

This is a 2-2.5 hour walk through the intertidal area of the sandy beaches of Changi. Participants get to see various interesting plants and animals that live in the sandy beach.

Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve

This is a 2-3 hour walk through the mangroves of Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. Participants will see the unique plants and animals that live in the mangroves. During migratory season, participants can expect to see hundreds or thousands of various shorebirds at the Reserve.

Bukit Timah Nature Reserve

This is a 2-3 hour walk through the primary and secondary forests of Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Participants will learn about the secret lives of rainforest plants and animals and the relationships between many of them.

Pulau Ubin

Take a walk through the rustic island of Pulau Ubin , where kampungs (villages) can still be seen. How do villagers live on this island? Is living sustainable? Participants get to see what life was like in mainland Singapore in the 1970s. What interesting plants and animals that can be found on Pulau Ubin? Come explore with us on this 3-4 hour nature ramble.

Pasir Ris Park

This is a two hour walk through the mangroves and coastal areas of Pasir Ris Park. Participants will see the unique plants and animals that live in the mangroves as well as some intertidal animals at the beach. During breeding season, the majestic Grey Herons can be seen calling loudly from their nests along Sungei Tampines.

Birdwatching

Are there many types of birds in Singapore? Where do birds live? How to watch birds? What are the secret lives of birds? This 2-4 hours birdwatching session will teach participants the basics of a bird and birdwatching. Participants will also get to learn more about the ecology of birds and their interrelationships with the environment.
